Course description
ALS 2 Recertification refreshes and reconfirms the skills, knowledge and confidence required to lead and manage medical emergencies, including cardiac arrest.
This intensive recertification day is designed for holders of a current ALS 2 certificate who need to maintain their Resuscitation Australia (RA) accreditation.
What you will learn
- Refresh recognition, assessment and management of the deteriorating patient using an ABCDE approach
- Update cardiac and respiratory arrest management, including manual defibrillation
- Review management of life-threatening arrhythmias
- Practice team leadership and structured communication in resuscitation scenarios
- Confirm competency as an ALS team leader through structured continuous assessment

How you will learn
A blend of flexible online eLearning completed before the course, followed by a focused hands-on half-day practical refresher. eLearning access is provided 30 days before your course date.
Assessment
Continuous knowledge checks are embedded throughout the eLearning, and practical competency is assessed throughout the face-to-face training day.
Prerequisites
A current ALS 2 certificate is required to attend this course.
Please note a minimum of six candidates is required for this course. All ALS training is conducted in accordance with ANZCOR Guidelines and meets NSQHS Standards.
